February 12th - The 2025 Oddveig Røsegg Lecture

by Dr Guy Puzey
We look forward to welcoming Guy back to the Society
to deliver the 25th Oddveig Røsegg lecture.

Some members may remember his earlier lecture
back in 2010 ‘Bokmål and Nynorsk’.
His topic this time will be on a little-known Norwegian
poet and journalist, Aasmund Olavsson Vinje,
who visited both England and Scotland.  He will be telling us

- what we may suspect - about Aasmund’s travels and
the critic reactions across the UK.

This will be in the Belmont Room in the Kelvinside Hillhead Church Hall.  The doors open at 7:30, for a 7:45 PM start.  There is usually a meeting earlier in the main hall, but the Belmont Room will be free.

Meetings take place on the second Wednesday of the months of October, November, January and March.  The society's events can be found on their own page.

Meetings are held at

Kelvinside Hillhead Parish Church - Church Hall
Saltoun Street/Observation Road.

Just off Byers Road, and close to Hillhead Subway.
